Fertilizer for Maize in Punjab
Autumn maize in October needs drying, not a new top-dress. Spring sowing is February–March. Zarkaar does not publish a maize bag count this site has not already tested in the field notes.
Maize in Punjab is two sowings, and October is neither of them. Spring hybrids go in during February–March. Autumn hybrids go in during July–August. By early October an autumn crop is at grain fill or at harvest. A fresh DAP bag on a crop you are about to cut does not buy yield. It buys a story.
Zarkaar has published bag counts for wheat, cotton, mango, sugarcane, and vegetables. It has not published a maize bags-per-acre table. This page will not invent one. Phosphate at sowing and a split of nitrogen are a counter conversation for the next sowing, when you can say the tehsil, the hybrid, and whether the last crop showed a zinc shortage.
What to do with the crop that is already in the field
Dry the grain. The kissan note on this site is to get autumn maize below 14 percent moisture so aflatoxin stays in check. That is a sheller and a drying floor, not a foliar spray. Feed buyers later reject wet grain. The export feed sheet, if you are a mill and not a grower, is 13–14 percent moisture and is explained on the feed corn spec. Selling every trailer to the export desk at a posted rate is not a service we offer.
Hybrid seed is current-season seed, yellow for feed and starch or white for people. Farm-saved F2 is a different crop. We will not sell a hybrid outside its sowing window for your district.
What the counter stocks when you do sow
The same authorised bags as the other crops: Sona DAP, prilled or granular urea, and Sona Zinc when the field has earned it. Granular urea moves more slowly and is the bag orchards and cane already use. Ask which form is right for a maize pass instead of copying the cane split.
