We book the ship and the marine insurance. You pay what they cost. The proforma shows the number.
CIF is available when you want Zarkaar to arrange ocean freight and marine insurance. You pay those costs. The default quote remains FOB Karachi until you ask for CIF and the proforma says CIF.
Insurance at cost is the published rule. We do not fold an unnamed margin into the word CIF on this page. Destination duty, your broker, and any permit you must hold stay on your side of the file.
What a CIF proforma has to show
The goods, the named discharge port, the freight figure, and the insurance figure. A lump with no split is not how we write it. The inland Multan-to-Karachi leg is still a line of its own if it is inside the price.
Mango transit is mode-specific. UAE sea is about five days. UK sea Chaunsa is quoted around 21 days, and a transhipment routing on the spec sheet can run 25–32 days. USA mango is air via Dubai, about 7–10 days to JFK or LAX, and is not a CIF sea container.
When CIF is the wrong tool
Choose FOB when your forwarder already has the space. Choose EX-Works Multan when that forwarder starts at the warehouse. A kissan bag on the Multan counter is cash trade, not CIF.
What CIF adds, and what it leaves behind
FOB Karachi is the default. CIF, when the proforma says so, adds ocean freight and marine insurance at cost to the discharge port you name. It does not add duty, VAT, the destination terminal, the broker, or the truck after the gate. It is not DDP, and Zarkaar is not the importer of record.
Name a real terminal. Jebel Ali, not “Dubai city.” Jeddah or Dammam, not Riyadh. A UK sea Chaunsa quote and a UAE mango quote are different voyages, so the freight inside CIF is not one number for every flag. Insurance at cost is not a published premium on this page.
