The mode changes the day count, the carton, and, for the United States, the route.
Sea and air are different products. A UAE sea reefer is about five days and does not need irradiation. UAE air is about two days. A UK sea Chaunsa program is quoted around 21 days. UK air Sindhri and Anwar Ratol take three to five days. A transhipment band on the spec sheet can run 25–32 days. The proforma names the routing.
The United States is air only, via Dubai irradiation, about 7–10 days to JFK or LAX. Canada mango on the live desk is also air via Dubai, and that hop is not the USA irradiation step. A full sea reefer holds about 4,800 cartons, 19–20 metric tons. Air and LCL start around 500 cartons.
How to choose
Match the mode to the shop, not to whichever vessel sails first.
Supermarket volume
Sindhri by sea into the UAE, then Chaunsa by sea into the UK, are the volume shapes. Pre-cool sits around 8–12°C. Hot water at 48°C still happens before the container.
Boutique and gifts
Air keeps Anwar Ratol and early Sindhri in a gift carton. A gift count is not a bulk bin. Say the carton count in the enquiry.
United States
Ask for air via Dubai. A sea quote will be refused. APHIS packing and your broker’s FDA notice sit on that air file.
Saudi and Qatar timing
The mango spec sheet puts Saudi sea in a 12–14 day band. Qatar is a smaller book: mixed cartons, your agent’s permit, and a named week. “Sometime in the season” is not a booking on that desk.
