Meetings · pre-book

Two closing dates.
A badge does not move them.

Bookings open on 1 January. Twenty percent holds volume. It does not lock freight unless the proforma says so.

Mango illustration for a pre-book closing call
Zarkaar Group, Shesha Basti Talab, Multan. Updated 2026-10-02.

The pre-book close is a call, not a party. Mango bookings open on 1 January. Sindhri volume closes in mid-March. Chaunsa volume closes at the end of April. A 20 percent deposit holds the volume. Freight stays open unless the proforma locks it. After the close, any fruit that remains is spot, about 15–25 percent above contracted volume, and it is not a promise.

Fruit Logistica in early February still sits inside both books. Gulfood in March is late for Sindhri and open for Chaunsa. Macfrut in late April is the last Chaunsa week, not an extension. SIAL Canada, listed for 27–29 April 2027, sits on that same edge. If your fair ends the day after our close, the fair loses.

What the closing call must contain

Variety, cartons, and the port. A “we will see” does not hold fruit.

Sindhri

Sourced from Mirpur Khas, ships around May and June. If you are asking in April, the book is shut. Spot fruit, if any remains, is a different sentence. Do not ask the call to pretend mid-March did not happen.

Chaunsa

Family fruit from Multan, late June through August. White Chaunsa extends into September from Multan and Nawabpur and should still have been booked by the end of April if you want a full reefer. A September meeting cannot reopen April.

What the deposit is not

It is not a stand booking at a fair. It is not USA sea freight. It is not a private-label artwork approval. Artwork is due about 60 days before the first ship, so a late-April Chaunsa deposit is already tight for a printed carton.

Who should be on the call

The person who can approve the deposit. A scout who must “check with the office next week” is late if next week is past the close. We will not hold volume against a verbal maybe while another buyer is ready to pay.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Can a trade show extend the Sindhri close?
No. Mid-March stands. A fair the week after is a conversation about something else.
Does the 20 percent lock the freight?
Only if the proforma says so. By itself the deposit holds volume.
What if we pay on the last day?
Send the variety, the cartons, and the port early enough that the proforma can exist that day. A midnight message with no port is not a booking.
Is White Chaunsa a third closing date?
No. Book it with Chaunsa, by the end of April, if you want volume. September is the tail of the fruit, not a new book.
